Working out my Book

Am having 6 copper plates in my book all regulated by the amount of money it will be costing me. For half a sheet of copper it is £25 and the half sheet isn't that big....awkward.
Each page will be 13cm by 10cm
The outer box will be 14cm by 11cm and the overlapping hinged top will be 14.5cm by 12cm

Did a cardboard tester to make sure it looked alright and I was happy with the sizing etc.

To make this out of metal, I used the massive guillotine for the first time. You literally have to jump with your whole weight on the pedal to cut it.
Finally cut out all the pieces I'd need and then had to file and sandpaper down the edges. After this, I then used the scribe to line out where I'd need the middle section of the box to fold- Liz said that if I had the join at the edge then the edge might warp so I moved it to the middle for soldering. I then used this crazy looking scalpel to make a slight groove into each line. Using a needle file (45 degrees scorer) I opened up each groove. Had to press quite firmly to make sure the file didn't slip. Had to file 2/3rds of the way in so that when the metal was folded it would have a sharp edge instead of a rounded curve.
